This R:ED event will feature Winnipeg's new mayor, Brian Bowman. Still in his first year of office, Brian Bowman's campaign included many promises directed at the Exchange District and downtown so we know downtown will be part of his focus.
Some of his downtown-oriented promises: 5,000 new downtown residents in 4 years, open Portage & Main, community centre at the Forks, promote riverbank development, seasonal pedestrian mall in the Exchange, raise taxes for surface parking lots and attract a grocery store to downtown.
Mayor Bowman will be introduced by R:ED member Merv Pritchard. Join us as Brian Bowman speaks about his vision for the Exchange and downtown. There will be lots of opportunity to ask questions as well.
This event will be kindly hosted by Howard Gurevich at Gurevich Fine Art. This beautiful gallery in the Exchange discovers and develops compelling emerging artists and showcases them alongside established national and international artists.
