There has been considerable discussion about the fate of the James Ave. pump house and many development proposals, but just what is inside this building?
It has been abandoned for 30 years, and very few people have seen the inside -- but now is your chance -- R:ED will have a special tour of the inside of the James Ave. pump house. (See the story on the R:ED website for more info and pictures)
It is dark, has no electricity and no heat. For this one night event, lights will be brought in. Colin Neufeld, with 5468796 Architecture will be our guide. We will start inside with a brief talk about the building and its history and then a walk-through.
Colin will have a model of the proposed development of the building and the construction of residential buildings on both the east and west side of the pump house, and he will lead us on a walk around the property to get a feel for the development concept.
When: Tuesday, November 15, 2016
Time: 7:00 - 8:00 pm
Where: James Ave pump house, back door (west side parking lot)
Cost: $2 towards R:ED website expenses
Dress: There is no heat inside and part of the tour will be outside, so dress warm.
